1. More and more people are trying to find the weight loss program that will work miracles. Does one exist? Not one that will work miracles, but there are some out there that will work for you. There trick is where to look, and what to look for. I can't really show you where to look or exactly what to look for, but I can give you a few facts and details on why nothing has worked so far.
2. You are probably overweight because of the most simple of reasons. Because you are eating your meals at the wrong time of the day, you are eating the wrong foods, and you are eating the wrong types of calories in each meal. Food is actually more powerful than any kind of weight loss pill you can buy. How is that? Because the food you eat determines weather you are fat or thin. Most will tell you that you get fat because you don't exersize.Wrong! You get fat because you don't eat the right foods at the right time each day. One secret is that you have to eat more than 3 times per day. The pattern that you choose to eat your meals every day is more powerful than any weight loss pills. More than likely you have gotten overweight by eating the wrong foods but you can slim back down by eating the right foods at the right time each and every day. Let's take a look at some of the things that don't work.
3. Low Fat Food Doesn't work. You can't lose weight using low fat diets. Almost everybody today is buying low fat or non fat food, however everybody is getting fatter by doing this. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This should tell you something. The low fat menu is not the answer to dieting.
4. Low Carb Plans Don't work. More than likely you will find it too hard to lose weight on a low carb diet. Why? Because they are too strict and too hard to follow. It takes tons of energy out of your body which makes it nearly impossible to stay on the program. A popular low carb diet is the Adkins Diet. The problem with Adkins is that it puts you on basically a starvation level of carbs, with only 80 carb calories a day for the first few weeks. Basically this is like starving yourself.
5. Low Calorie Diets Don't Work. Eating low calories is the worst thing you can do for your body. All this diet does is slow down your body's fat burning engine and ruin all chances of losing weight. Actually the first few days you will lose a few pounds. But then it comes to a stop and you will be stuck in a diet plateau. The reason for this is that your metabolism will detect a major drop in calories and then adjust itself to burn fewer calories each day.
6. What you have to do is rotate your eating patterns. When you rotate your eating patterns it takes a few days before your metabolism can adjust to the new eating patterns. And by rotating your eating patterns this is what will force you to burn fat. The thing is, your metabolism has no idea what you will eat in the coming days. Your metabolism always burns calories from what you have eaten in the prior days. So you have to shock your metabolism into thinking something different. This is called The Shifting Calories Theory. Diet tips:

Probably the most important thing for losing weight is to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. Fresh vegetables and whole grain foods contain more protein and fiber, and less digestible carbs, so they contribute more nutrients to your system, but fewer calories. Fruits have sugars but they also have a lot of fiber and nutrients, and they make a great replacement for other sweets.

AVOID simple carbs--white bread and the like. Avoid "high fructose corn syrup" at all costs--not only does this contribute empty calories, some people suggest it even messes with your metabolism in ways that can lead to weight gain. That means, no sodas, and be careful with fruit drinks--only drink 100% juice, nothing less.

Probably the most important thing to remember when dieting is that you should not try to cut fat out of your diet...it's easy to fall into the trap of buying "low-fat" foods, but often these foods are high in refined sugars and simple carbs, loaded with calories. Your body will manufacture fat if you eat too many calories--it doesn't matter whether or not you eat much fat. Another problem is that if you don't eat enough fat, it can make you start to crave it (your body needs certain fats the same way you need protein) and then you end up indulging in unhealthy fats.

A much better approach is to eat healthy fats, including nuts (which are also high in fiber, protein, and minerals), and olive oil (which has a number of health benefits). If you're going to go for sweets, try to eat something like dark chocolate (not milk chocolate)--it's high in fat, but it'll satisfy your cravings more, and it has a number of chemicals in it that help your body metabolize fats and sugars.

Exercise tips:
I know more about nutrition than about exercise, but, the most important type of exercise for burning calories is aerobic exercise. I'm sure you know all about that--suffice it to say, the best way to lose weight is not just to exercise specifically, but to find ways to burn calories in your day-to-day life too.

For example, try to walk or bike instead of driving places, whenever possible. When traveling the same distance, walking briskly burns more calories than bicycling the same distance. I find that since people go places every day, but don't exercise every day, the best way to exercise is to find ways to exercise while you're going places!

Make sure you drink a lot of water, and try to cut down on soft-drinks.
Don't drink things like energy-drinks; they make you gain weight really quickly.
Try and only eat the recommended amount of calories per day.
If you go to the gym that much and workout, you'll be sure to lose weight!
It just takes time, don't give up.
