Yesterday at work, in the copy room, my co-worker came in from behind and grabbed me. She put her arms around me hard and wouldn't let me go. She started making animal noises and was moaning. When I threw her off, it turned out to be Elizabeth, 55 years old. I am 28 years old.
I am stressed. Does Elizabeth want to sleep with me? I never thought of it until now. Elizabeth quickly left and didn't say anything.

Finding out:

I think humor might be a good way to approach the situation. "Hey Elizabeth, what was up with the copy room yesterday?"

Safety/Legality:

First, you should consider talking to a supervisor if she does not respond or explain herself. No one should do that in the workplace especially without saying something like "I'm just playing around."

If it made you uncomfortable, I think it's best to tell her as well.

Another thing to do is document this. I know that sounds like a bit much, but you don't really know what she was thinking. Documenting it here on the net puts a time stamp on it, which is good, but I would suggest writing it somewhere else as well.

Motive:

Well, she might be into you, but she could also just have really screwy ideas about personal space, etc. Maybe she was raised by a family of wrestling circus animals?

It's screwed up either way really. If she's into you, she has a really dumb way of showing it and if she's not, then she may just be crazy.

I hope she explains and I hope you come back and tell us.

Well, to say the least, this is very inappropriate behavior for the workplace. Without knowing what you want, I'd say it is pretty inappropriate anywhere. I would confront her in a playful way, like, : WOW! What was that all about in the copy room the other day?.

Then maybe just say that you aren't interested, but hope that you can ba able to maintain a good working relationship.

Granny wants to get busy. If you don't approve of that kind of behavior, talk to her so that does not happen again, unless you like it.
