First off, you shouldn't be working your biceps every day. Your muscles need a period of rest to be able to recuperate and heal otherwise they won't grow well.
As for your question - 30 grams a day is way to little. You should probably be taking about 200 Grams per day of just protein spread out throughout your day. You should take some immediately upon waking and just before going to bed to help your body stay in an anabolic state. If your body enters a catabolic state it digests itself to get the nutrients it needs. Also, do not neglect your regular diet.
P.S. When I started working out I weighed 115 - now 175.

I'll chime in on this one, even though I admittedly do not do much weight lifting, although I have had a fair amount of science/health classes which have addressed this.

Generally speaking, with a healthy diet, you can get all the protein you need without taking supplements. When you consume too much protein, your body does not store it, so you lose it somehow - generally through urination. Since there hasn't been any or enough research to say what happens if you consume too much protein, scientists don't really know if it will have a negative effect on the body, aside from making the kidneys process it.

If you take the time to read some of the link, at least the section that says Simple Truths (it's about 2/3rds down the page), it may give you some insight on a medical perspective. Supplements are big money, so of course they're going to be made to seem like they do a ton for you, but read up on the product before you use it.

For lifters, the general rule of thumb is 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight a day, preferably spread out through the day. For serious builders, even more than that is better. Don't neglect your other macronutrients (carbs and fat). Actually, good and proper nutrition is extremely important for lifters.

Remember that supplements are just that, supplements, and shouldn't replace whole foods.
