The last one was a corker!
Preaching that I should use my brain when she has clearly not read or understood the JOKE in the question!
SAD AND SCARY!

No.  Not only are air conditioners net emitters of heat (the heat output at the condenser equals the heat soaked up by the evaporator PLUS the electric power input), but the powerplants which power the A/C are generally emitters of both waste heat and greenhouse gases themselves.

When someone moves from New York to Florida and runs their A/C 9 months out of the year to beat the heat, they are making that heat worse.  Ironic, no?

Normaly the earth goes through cooling phazes and heating phazes but this time we are pushing the heating phaze to a point where it will not return to a cooling phaze naturaly... The earth will probably look more like venus if we did nothing to stop the effects of global warming ever and just let our pollution build up and kept making it. .....Of course we all know the Govs of this world are not stupid or greedy and would never allow that to happen..... Inorder to stop global warming we will probably have to cut power use back like 80% because a huge amount and I mean very large amount of our pollution comes from power generation. And not only that but the powerplants make hot water/air that causes more heat to enter the system ect... I really can not believe with the interent at peoples dispossal how ignorant the average american is on this subject. You would think people would find time in there days to do some of there own research on the subject and not just accept second hand information. Dont take my word on it just look this stuff up folks you have a brain use it :)

The phrase Global warming, is rather unfortunate, for the first symptoms were, and they are happening now, a dramatic rise in the water temperature in the worlds oceans. Scientist did not fully understand the system and predicted a raise in global temperature, thus coined this phrase..

We now know that the heat in the planet is then cooled by evaporation and rain, so rain fall increases - however, the winds are at a different temperature, so they tend to shift, and you get flooding in areas not used to it, and drought in former lush areas, at a rate that wildlife and plants can not adapt to. This process is natrual, but we are now speeding it up too fast for some parts of our ecco-system to react in time.

The warmer planet then goes into second gear, in that the Teutonic plates contract to cool down the globe a bit, so you get massive earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions increase, which adds more soot into the atmosphere, which might just trip us into the next ice age.

You joke question may just have a hollow ring of truth in it however. The adoption of air conditioning in China, which must start building a new power station every week, to power them may just trip the balance faster.

Global warming is a natural occurance after the last Ice Age. It's happened before and it will happen again with or without humans. Air conditioning also works by changing the temperature on two different sides of a wall, but overall the temperature stays the same when you compare the two temps.

what do you mean if

and air conditioning still requires the use of electricity

somehow, I think you're kidding?

edit: well I've come back to this to read the other comments and thank goodness you were kidding LOL, it's hard to tell with some people on here sometimes

No. The Air Conditioning units themselves (electric generators typically) cause hot air as they operate. The more you try and cool the air, the hotter it'll be elsewhere.

when running an air conditioner, you increase the net temperature of the air (air inside the house gets cool, but air outside the house gets hot).
