I'm 16 years old, around 5'11", and I weigh about 158 lbs. I'm no where near fat or overweight, but I have this annoying packet of fat around my waist and stomach. I'm active in sports, and I exercise a lot, including ab workouts. No matter what, I can't get abs because I have fat that covers it. Not to mention I have love handles that won't go away.

Is there a way to just lose that fat without going on a diet? I think it would be unhealthy to lose too much weight, since I am at a healthy weight now. But my love handles are driving me crazy! Thanks.

Well, like I said, I'm active in sports. I run very often, so you'd think this wouldn't be a problem.

Actually, I used to be pretty chubby as a kid, but I grew taller and thinned out. So I'm no longer overweight, but yeah, those love handles won't go away. Theyr'e definitely very noticable too, and they drive me crazy.

A lot of it could be genetics, how was your dad built or other men in your family?

Also you are still young so it could be extra skin. You will probably get taller before you are 19 so I imagine it will even out.

Suggestion: Try to cut back on soda and salty foods and try to do crunches where you twist and touch your right elbow to your left knee and vice versa.

My husband told me that running helped him lose his. I did a search for you and found a couple of helpful articles that may be worth checking out.

Good Luck

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Unless you suffer from anorexia, it is very very unlikely that you will lose too much weight. At 16 you shouldn't have 'love handles' anyway, those are for 35 year-olds.

Don't go 'on a diet' but do modify your diet to include more whole grains, vegetables and fruits. You can still eat ice-cream and pizza just make that the exception rather than the rule. The best and quickest thing you can do to lose weight in a healthy way is to stop drinking sweetened beverages and soft drinks and just drink water - you save money too.
