It's not the usual reaction, but it's not "weird". I know that red wine has an enzyme in it that causes headaches in some people; perhaps some beers have this same enzyme?
Or maybe your body just metabolizes alcohol a bit differently. Everyone reacts differently. I have some friends that drink a lot and still have no tolerance for the stuff. Others can drink enough to kill a small elephant and they still seem fine!
Or maybe you have some kind of allergy. I'm slightly allergic to booze...especially beer. But I don't get headaches. Every time I drink I get congested with a stuffy nose. If I take 2 Sudafed before I drink, I'm usually fine (Before doing this, I checked with a pharmacist and, although it's not the greatest thing, it's not THAT bad. Luckily, I don't drink often.). Anyhow, I have no clue what it is in the booze that I'm reacting too...the grain? The yeast? The hops? But whatever it is, my body doesn't like it. Maybe you are having some similar reaction. Ask your doctor.
If beer hurts your head, try wine or liquor. If they all hurt your head, then I guess drinking is not for you. Whatever you do, don't take Tylenol for your headache when you're drunk; it's bad for the liver. Take aspirin instead.

Well, I know that wine contains sulfates which cause the headache. I'm actually drinking a beer right now and it doesn't state that it contains sulfates. But I thought most alcohol did. Other than that I would say an allergy.

Just like everyone has said, you might be allergic to some of the ingredients or you might have a low tolerance to alcohol. Don't keep drinking and become an alcholic if you have a low tolerance.

Hmm, its normal to feel relaxed after the first beer..but if you have a bad headace after the second one every time I would talk to your doctor about it if it dosent stop. Some people have bad reactions to alcohol, its rare but it happends.

Your body knows when you've had enough and will give signs to let you know when to stop. I'm not much of a drinker and after I have 1 drink if I drink another my stomach lets me know its time to stop. Don't push your body. It's not healthy and alcohol is not a habit you want to start.

My wife has that. The doctor said it is because she is allergic to something in beer. If she does drink she has to be very moderate about it or she'll get sick. And she has to drink more expensive liquor that is processed finer and with better quality ingredients.

If you have just started drinking then you can forgive your body for reacting in this way to something new. You could even be allergic to something in the alcohol... best thing is to get it checked out

Your liver can process 1 alcholic bev and hour, so if you are drinking 2 drinks within an hour you are probably getting dehydrated that is the reason for the headache. Or build up your tolerence lol.

You may be allergic to alcohol, I would talk to a doctor about it to find out for sure, because if you are drinking could be a very bad, as in kll you bad, thing to do. Please see a doctor to find out before you try drinking again. Hopefully I'm wrong, good luck!!
