Cows aren't sacred to everyone. To Christians, God provided animals for meat, for food for us to eat. Cows are not sacred, different Religious beliefs must be tolerated by all.

Humans are no longer under the laws of the Old Testament. We are under the new covenant of the New Testament. In 1 Timothy Chapter 4 (KJV) says that in the latter days people will depart from the faith. There are numerous things listed as to things that people will do turning from the faith of God. In verse 3 and 4 it says that people will abstain from eating meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. In verse 4 it says "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: (verse 5) "For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Obviously, by reading these verses we should know that meats such as cows are good for us to eat but that we should thank God before eating them because he has provided us with this (yummy) food.

Christianity doesn't have that injunction against eating meat. I'm guessing you're Hindu (the sacred cow and saying "the christianity" instead of just "Christianity," South Asian speech pattern.) Chrisitianity also sees humans as the best of creation, with everything else below humans. I don't believe in it myself, but I was raised Baptist.
I honestly think people there should worry more about the fact that young children are sold as sex slaves in their backyards than about eating a cow.

I am a christian. And i know God put the animals here to feed us.I believe that Vegetables should be the main part of our diet. For health reasons. I do not take everything written in the bible as words God has spoken.

10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

A Christian can be a meat eater or a vegatarian. The bible says they can eat meat the only sin is if the meat eater tries to froce his meat eating on the vegetarian and vice versa.
I am Wicca, and some of us eat meat myself included while others feel this is wrong and eat only vegetables. There may be a religion that says you must be vegetarian, but I have been exposed to it yet.

Eating meat is allowed and good. Eating humans is not.
Gen. 3: 21
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Where do you think God got the skins from? Animal life was put here for man's sustenance and use, but not abuse of course.

the cow is not a sacred animal, and neither are animals. no where in my bible does it say, thou shalt not eat any animal. There are rules for the JEWS on what they can eat, like they can't eat pork or fish without scales-but who wants to eat an eel anyways. god gave the animals to man to feed him. God killed a lamb and took its skin to clothe adam and eve. What god has given to us, we should use. Puleeze, animals are cute but u dont need 2 be all gung ho about it all. Christians can eat meat if they want-but then again, why pick on the christians? Buddhists eat meat, so do other religions. save your nonsense gabble for yourself and your PETA group. oh and go stab paris hilton coz shes got a fur coat *gasp* do you think that coat came from a plant? I highly doubt it. so go preach to her your athiest beliefs.

Not all Christians eat meat. All life is sacred, but cows are kosher (that means they're fit to eat) :P
....but with all the animals pumped up with hormones to make them grow faster, i would not eat those poor mistreated animals.

There is a differing view I don't think you understand. Christianity teaches that God made the earth for man and gave dominion of it to man. There is nothing on earth that is not subject to man. No Christian would ever think of any animal as being sacred, that would be putting them on equal footing with God. Christianity teaches that nothing you eat is unholy (although it may not be good for you), what is unholy is the evil that comes out of us.
