Of couse you can go wrong by following your heart! I wish I had known this very important fact when I was younger...
When I followed my heart entirely, I totally ignored the little, "red flags". After ignoring my own self-contained warning system several times, I realized that I must follow my brain FIRST and then follow my heart. No more pain and agony, thankyouverymuch! If I see one "red flag", I'm outta there!!!

Certainly yes, all the time." Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial " and scripture also says that our hearts betray us.
It is one thing to go by knowing, but going by feeling that which comes from the heart is very impulsive, impetuous and allows our feelings to lead instead of our logic.
Acting from the heart may give us instant results and gratification, but if we had only thought things through.. we would see that any decision based on raw emotion isn't always a good thing. If we make a decision based on reasoning and thinking it through, it far better benefits us in the end.

Absolutely, we are warned that the dominant control of our feelings, if that is what you are referring to , as to the heart ,can do a job on us, in several ways. It can act as a double agent, excusing us and condemning us at different times. Please note:
Excusing:
(Jeremiah 17:9-10) “9 “The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it? 10 I, Jehovah, am searching the heart, examining the kidneys, even to give to each one according to his ways, according to the fruitage of his dealings. . .”
Condemning:
(1 John 3:19-21) “19 By this we shall know that we originate with the truth, and we shall assure our hearts before him 20 as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. 21 Beloved ones, if [our] hearts do not condemn [us], we have freeness of speech toward God;”
Clear thinking ability can safeguard us from some strong leanings:
(Proverbs 4:22-24) “. . .. 23 More than all else that is to be guarded, safeguard your heart, for out of it are the sources of life. 24 Remove from yourself the crookedness of speech; and the deviousness of lips put far away from yourself.”
-We really have to try hard to be in control.
(Hebrews 3:12) “12 Beware, brothers, for fear there should ever develop in any one of YOU a wicked heart lacking faith by drawing away from the living God;”
-Not only from God, but from our husband or wife or honest dealings etc.
-Please keep in mind that when we recognize the good things that the figurative heart can lead us to, we can have control of this potential traitor, especially with God's help.

Yes, but I'd rather go wrong following my heart than spend my whole life doing right because I let someone else tell me what to do everytime.

Yeah i think you can... thats why the wisest people follow their minds not their hearts...
Actually i think one should follow their heart but think of the concequences... in other words follow ur heart but consult ur mind before taking actions...

Jeremiah 17:9
"The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?"
You can't even understand your own heart.
Sin does that to you. You go along thinking everything is fine, following your heart.
Jeremiah 16:12
'You too have done evil, even more than your forefathers; for behold, you are each one walking according to the stubbornness of his own evil heart, without listening to Me."
Genesis 6:5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Evrything your heart leads you to is evil continually. In theological parlayance it's called total depravity. You and I are depraved people. We are sinners by birth and by choice.
Listen to what Job said about man: "How much less one who is detestable and corrupt, Man, who drinks iniquity like water!" Job 15:16
King David agreed: Psalms 53:1-3
1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; There is no one who does good.
2 God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who understands, Who seeks after God.
3 Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.
WOW, it just gets worse and worse!
First you sin, and then you die!
Ecclesiastes 9:3
This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for all men. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterwards they go to the dead.
Our hearts are so bad, they act insane!
But there is hope! YES, because Paul says
1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Romans 8:1-5
Psalms 150:1-6
1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

sure! All sins, sinful reactions and sinful desires are mendacity in seed style interior the middle, and at particular cases those seeds fructify and have the two good or undesirable impact or reactions upon the guy. Sinful desires springing up interior the middle will reason one to the two go through or act sinfully. we would desire to consistently act in accordance to guru, shastra and sadhu, not in accordance to the middle or what we expect of to be the middle or the techniques. we would desire to purify the middle with the aid of the approach of Nam japa and bhakti or devotional provider to the Lord. Take care and superb desires consistently. GOURANGA GOURANGA GOURANGA
