Well, if he asks you out, than you can just put him down lightly. Most guys shouldn't get their hopes up because a girl talks to them. I never get my hopes up because a girl flirts with me. In fact, I don't know if any girl likes me and if she does, she should say something.

Most of the guys use flirting as if a girl likes him, you can cause a lotta confusion. But flirting is early stages of a relationship, you may not mean it now same with him but some day you might.
Also this person is not immature... some people have a instinct or do it to be polite. If the guy was smart he would get you to ask him out not the other way around then this question wouldnt be need.

hmm. well being a guy myself, i have to say you flirting with him wasn't nessesarily a big mistake. But u no, we can get the wrong impression easily. Now, if you too are friends, it will probly just boost the relationship a little, if you are really good friends he might ask you out, and if you don't knoe him, he'll think yur interested. If all else fails just tell him. Tell im you didn't mean to flirt back, you where just playin along or somethin. Well hope it all works out for ya.

If he means it, then you might hurt the guy. However, if he does ask you out, put him down gently.
If he doesn't mean it like you don't, then just have fun with it. Hah.
But if you're feeling guilty about it, then perhaps you should stop flirting and just be friends with him. Or less, er, flirty.
This happened to me once, but the boy meant it. He got hurt actually and we don't talk anymore. But that's my case, maybe not yours :)

oh I have this problem all the time! if this is a one time thing just clean up your act around him and be professional and he should get the message. if you are a habitual flirt, let him see how you are with all the other men and then with someone you REALLY like and he'll get the picture. dont' make a big deal about it. if you go all apologetic he'll think you really DO like him and are just really shy. Men are funny like that. you don't want to call attention to it and hurt his feelings. either way its' a bad situation and he gets hurt. you really have to watch yourself. It's hard to be the queen of flirts.

first of all, you probably shouldn't have flirted back, but i don't know the situation you are in. i think the first thing you should do is go and tell the guy that you aren't interested and that it was a mistake on your part. of course try to be as gentle as possible. you don't want to break hi heart.

guys do that to us and we absolutely hate it because it is giving us false hope. its mean to do that, i mean if u act like that wit everyone than i guess it not that bad but if you just act like that with him because he is flirting with you than you are going to make him feel special or idk but i just think that is mean
