Being born Scottish
Living in Scotland
Bringing my children up to see the mountains of Scotland and not the smog of London
Being able to hold your head up high and walk the beautiful Loch coastlines
knowing my children will grow up with a strong ancestory
being proud of where i live
these all give me happiness

The word happiness in the Chinese Character is "fu" ç¦ (pronounced "foo" as the word "foe" in English.
It is a combination of the components or radicals:
shi 示 (god/deity) , yi ä¸ (one) , kou å£(man/person), and tian ç°.(garden/farm). In other words, "happiness" is one person walking besides God in a "garden" (Garden of Eden?) or owning a piece of "farm" meaning enough supply of food.
In Greek, the word "happiness" or "blessing" is "makarion"
Here is what the Bible says about "happiness" or "makarion" or "fu":
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,[g] that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)

Relative to each person.
In the vaguest sense of the term, its an emotion. But every person has their own definition of happiness. This question is far too broad to answer properly.

I do not know.
I think most people are fake, I think most ppl lie, and I (personally) do not know any happy married people.
Yes I am a negative person.. I guess it comes from having a crummy life.

in one word? satisfaction
but i think happiness is a choice. choose to be miserable and you will be coz your mind convinces you that everything else are miserable and hopeless in its sense, and vice versa. a friend sent a quote saying, "you will be who you think you are becoming." coz i think there is a great impact on how you think, and what you choose to believe. if your sad, it's because you chose to believe that something is sad. ^_^
hihi.. am i making sense? :p
