humans are robots. we were brought up that way. Christians have learned that Satan is a very evil man. so whenever there is a question bout him we assume that we know all about him. frankly the truth is we really don't. we think we do. im christian i do not know anything about him. except from what i have known since i was a little girl. my Nana tells me that Satan is a bad person and he tries to use us so that we can do bad things and then we sin. every time something goes wrong we blame it on Satan. i really do not know why. life is about ups and downs are we going to blame satan for all the downs and mistakes that we have made or will make in the near furture. and then give god all the thanks for the good things that went well.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan is evil incarnate. He is a master deceiver, and temps us and puts doubts about God's words, and God's plans for us in our hearts. His temptations are great, and while we're on earth, his way may be more attractive - he offers many wonderful "things," but, once he has you, you are lost.
God has set about the Way to have life eternal with Him in Heaven when He sent His Son to die for our sins.
Satan doesn't want us to have that eternal life with God because at one time, he had that gift just like you and I. He chose his evil actions and was cast out of Heaven, and, so, he doesn't want us to have Salvation either.
If you read The Holy Bible, you can learn about Satan's life before and after he fell from grace, and, you can learn about God's plan for you.

Nobody can REALLY know anything about a non-existent entity. Atheists know as much about the biblical stories as many believers - often more. Does that bother you?
