Well my average heart rate at rest is 54 beats, and after exercise (15 mins running) is 96 beats. I often get dizzy when i stand up quickly or feel tired for no reason. Is my heart rate too slow or is it not due to this?

For an adult the average heart rate is 72 beats per minute(bpm)
The fact that yours is 54 is an indication that you are a fit person.Generally the fitter you are the less times your heart has to beat (mines 48)
The dizzyness could be an indication that you have low blood pressure(not a problem but you should be aware of it). The tiredness could well be your diet try to eat little and often.Sorry I can't be more specific.

Well to put you at ease, my heart rate at rest is 48 beats per minute, although I do cardio 5 times a week and weight training 4 times a week.

I spend at least 45 minutes doing cardio, as that is the minimum you should do if you want to be fit and healthy. If your heart rate after 15 minutes of exercise is 96 beats per minute then you are not putting enough effort into the exercise. You should be at least 124 beats per minute.

Most people get dizzy standing up quickly, it is just a matter of being careful when you stand up. If you start getting nose bleeds or start to feel exhausted all the time then you should see a doctor.

Until then try to stay fit and enjoy life.

It depends on several factors, your age, level of fitness and general health. I myself have a resting heart rate of 60 beats per minute or less. I think this is due to several years of running regularly.

After fifteen minutes running I would expect your heart rate to be up to considerably over 96. Though as I said already it depends upon your level of fitness.

There is a condition called Bradycardia in which the heart beats unusually slowly. Bearing in mind the dizziness and how tired you are I'd get yourself checked over by your GP if I were you.

I hope everything is ok and your health is good.

The normal heart rate for a healthy adult is 60 to 100 beats per min (bpm) at rest. Anything less than 60 bpm is concidered bradycardia.

Sometimes bradycardia is normal. For example, healthy young adults and well-trained athletes often have resting heart rates of less than 60 beats per minute.

Inappropriate sinus bradycardia, also called bradyarrhythmia, is an abnormally slow heart rate that is caused by certain medical conditions. In severe forms of bradycardia, the heart beats so slowly that it does not pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. This can be life-threatening.

In bradycardia, electrical signals that normally keep the heart beating in a regular and rhythmic manner are disrupted, resulting in a slow heart rate.

54 doesn't sound that low at all. You might have a quiet system like me. A slower than average heart rate hand in glove with low blood pressure. This shows up particularly if you eat a healthy, pure diet and no junk food.

It's low blood pressure that causes the dizziness and you could check your own readings on a bp monitor. I don't start worrying until my pulse rate looks like it's heading to 45 bpm at rest. Doctors tell me professional athletes have that pulse rate but I get up and start jumping around a bit at that level. Just in case.

You don't give your age, your heart rate decreases the older you get, If you have just started exercising 15min running is too much, take it easy and gradually build up, 96 per min does not sound too high, your max heart rate is 220 per min minus your age, 220 is the heart rate of a new born baby. Always get a check up before starting any exercise programme.
