You can start a little bit by around 15-16 years old. But you must be careful because it will cause your hormones to kick into gear and it is known to stunt groth so dont do any kind of power lifting or body building of any kind till your full grown for a year or so.

I'd say you can start lifting about when you enter puberty. Keep it light and perfect your form. As you get older, you can ge more intense in your workouts. Learn and observe good gym etiquette. You never know if it may become a serious hobby for you.

Weights is actually excellent even for kids, as long as it's done safely and preferably with an experienced adult. Don't listen to these guys who say it's dangerous for kids. As long as your safe about it, you'll be fine.

I definitely suggest having someone show you how to do the exercises, and if you can afford a trainer, all the better.

Have fun!

I am convinced that it is dangerous and not productive to lift until the hormones necessary for more muscle growth are present, i.e., puberty. That age is different for averybody. If you insist on doing it before then, it should only be under the supervision of a licensed trainer.

Late 14 or early 15 is typical but you are best off seeking the counsel of a doctor in case you have any medical conditions and/or due to your body's development.

After pueberty because if he starts before then, his growth patterns could be stunted. Did you ever see the worlds strongest boy on TLC? I think thats sick what they did to him and who knows what kind of medical problems he is going to have in the future.

any age is really okay (well like as earlier as pre-teen). i mean all you have to do is alter how heavy the weights are. i work out for tennis for my high school and there are other high schoolers dong really tough workouts and there are even elementary kids there for camps and stuff doing work out for camps and stuff.

the younger they are start them with the lightest weights and slowly increase the weight.
