It depends on how his insurance policy is written!! If the policy states the coverage is null and void unless he's driving the car and it's parked at the location specified on the policy, they won't pay his loss. Then it's between you and him who wants to pay for the cost of the car.

Most insurance companies will look for ANY reason to NOT cover a loss, and I can almost guarantee you they would deny his claim unless he was staying overnight and that's why the car was there. If they find out you were driving it as a loaner car, he's screwed.

Your friend give you hes car. You have permision by the owner of the car to use it. So if someone stole it, you call the police so they dont think you did it, and on top of it you have to give to the police your friends phone number and adress so they can call hem and make shure he give you permision to have the car, so you are out as a suspect frome the moment the cop gets the info that you have permision to have the car and someone else is plaing dirty here. Ok, so let the police do theyr job do.

The person who stole it is responsible for the theft. His insurance company will cover the theft no matter who was using the car at the time.

The car thief is solely responsible for the theft.
