No he could not. Someone else needs to recognize and bless your mariage. A representative if you will or for lack of a better work.

I think he would wanted to enjoy the sacredness of the moment and have another pastor do it for him. It would be kind of awkward but I think it could be done. I am going to ask a pastor friend of mine what he thinks.

No. Pastor's officiating their own weddings would be like doctor's performing surgery on themselves.

No. The state wouldn't allow it. It is a requirement that the marriage licensed be signed by someone other than either of the two spouses who officiated at the ceremony. Most states also require the signature of withnesses.

No. The wedding needs to be officiated by an impartial party. Much like a witness to the event.

I dunno that would be kind of difficult don't you think? If I were the pastor getting married I would want to get another pastor that I knew and respected. Maybe someone who helped guide me as a pastor.

Is your question a legal or religious one.

Legally the signer on the marriage license who files it (job usually done by judge or clergyman) must be a third party.

Hope that helps.

First of all, why would he want to? The bride should be more important than the ceremony.
2nd, if this is a way of saving money, that bride should run right out of there right now!

It isn't allowed, just like a doctor isn't allowed to operate on himself. It's against professional ethics.
