Someone is looking at my Myspace centered on this spot, a month ago and now on my new page, and I'm very concerned that it's in Washington DC and wonder if I'm on some government watch list. I am not a criminal or anything subversive...

It looks like there's parking on top, but it's abandoned because there's no cars. Also, the myspace mapping isn't precise so it could be somewhere nearby. Or simply answer, why DC? I've never been East of Nevada so I don't know a soul out there.

I actually work right across the street from there. The exact point on the map is actually a construction site that has an office building being built on it. It is next to the Washington Post newspaper building. Probably someone who works at the Post is checking out your profile.

As for why DC, there are some large companies whose headquarters or IT departments are in that neighborhood. Many companies have their IT networks set up so that all Internet traffic leaves/enters the company through a specific Internet access server called a proxy; so even if you are sitting at a desk in Ohio, your Internet traffic is routed first to HQ in DC before going on to its final destination. There are a lot of law firms, lobbyists, hotels and so forth in this area so someone who works in one of these companies may be reading your myspace from work, regardless of where they actually sit.

Washington Flyer runs shuttles to the West Falls Church Metro station each 0.5 hour or so. Take the Washington Flyer to West Falls Church, seize the Orange Line Metro to Metro middle, and get off on the 11th street aspect. that allow you to off at 11th and G. walk one block north on 11th street, and also you may want to ascertain a huge vehicle parking zone. The Megabuses (and Bolt Buses) all bring about that lot next to a coated pathway.

Don't get stressed out - stress itsn't good. I live in this neighborhood and there's some apartment buildings, hotels, cafes, restaurants. No government buildings - so chill out :) Plus, most of the CIA/ NSA offices are in Virginia.
