I very recently (2 days ago) got a hole in my front tooth filled, now I can't drink water or eat anything cold without it hurting. I even bought the tooth paste for sensitive teeth but couldnt even brush them because of the pain. I have never had sensitive teeth in my life before. Is this normal? Or has the dentist screwed my tooth?

same here. Its just from the filling. Try eating warm foods and using sensitivity toothpaste/mouthwash. In time, it eventually goes away. At least, thats what happened to me.

I am a dentist and it seems like you have a high spot on that tooth when the dentist placed the filling. Does it feel likeyou are biting there first? Whenever there is a high spot, when your bite feels uneven, then the 2 things patients suffer from are sensitivity to cold and biting. I would go back to the dentist, have them take a look and he can adjust the filling to make it feel better. It doesn't take that long.
Another unlikely cause could be that the filling was deep and may have hit a nerve which is causing you pain. Maybe your tooth needs a root canal, but only your dentist can tell you.
Good luck.

it's normal to have a little sensation to cold or heat...even for 2 weeks after filling any tooth ...the pain may last 5 to 10 seconds and it's mild pain.......but if you're suffering from sever pain which might attack spontaneously lasting for long time that'smean a problem and you should see ur dentist again....i wish that helps...good luck
