Does he like me or not?

Question

There's this guy @ school & recently, we've been talking alot on msn. everytime he or i comes online, he instantly msgs me and we talk till either of us leaves.
in person tho, sometimes he seems really into me by talking to me non-stop but at other times, he's so cold to me... ignores me all the time
i wanna find a way to find out if he likes me or not. i've tried flirting w/him but sometimes he goes along, and sometimes he just shoots me down by saying "your point?"
how can i find out if he likes me by using a not-so-obvious-way and if he really does, how can i lead him into asking me out w/out having any worries (he told me once that he wouldnt want a gf in the same school cuz their relationship might turn awkward if they break up....)?

I'd say that he does really like you a lot, but he is somewhat shy to show his feelings toward you (or toward anygirl). I have a feeling that he is really afraid of having a gf who goes to the same school because... yes, it can be awkward if you guys break up. Don't just flirt with him because he might get the impression that you are (no offence)... dsperate. Show him that you really care about him by asking him to a movie or something and act truely happy to be around him. He'll eventualy get the picture that you are really interested in him and he might become more open about his feelings toward you.

He seems to be too high maintenance for my tastes.

My advise is to give up on having him as anything but a friend, and find yourself a guy that thinks you're marvelous ALL THE TIME!
