002.190 Fight in the cause of Allah those WHO FIGHT YOU, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.
002.191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
002.192 But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
The middle verse is quoted so much by non-muslims to prove that islam is a violent religion...but does it really say to kill innocents?

The verses you refer to about the Battle of Uhud, when the small Islamic armies were fighting the Idolators who were trying to kill all the Muslims. It is more of a historical account of that battle. Those verse are the commands they were given by God thru the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
No, killing an innocent person is a MAJOR sin
The Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him] said, "The biggest of Al-Kabâ'ir (the great sins) are: (1) To join others as partners in worship with God, (2) to murder a human being, (3) to be undutiful to one's parents, and (4) to make a false statement," or said, "to give a false witness." [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, 9/6871 (O.P.10)].

No and No. And people who do think so are wrong. Reading the quran in english is not the same. I have read the quran in english myself and its very different. The quran tells you to defend yourself against infidels. Example... if a man is trying to kill you .. you are allowed to kill him. ( as self defense) Not only against infidels, but also Muslims themselves. And no muslims dont consider terrorists 'muslims' Im from iraq and i know what they do.

If you look at the middle verse you will see that it talks about fighting people if they fight you first and turning people out where they have turned you out therefore it is an act of retaliation. therefore theese people are not innocent as they have attacked first.
All of theese quotes talk about fighting back at people that fight you there is nothing there too suggest killing innocent people and does not prove islam as a violent religion.

My understanding is that Islam has no tolerance for idolatry, but that it ultimately teaches tolerance of other monotheistic religions (In particular Christianity and Judaism). This is due in great part to the fact many polytheistic cults still existed in Mohamed's time. Another passage of the Koran states idolatry is more grievous than bloodshed.

No, he does not say that. Those ayahs came down at the time of war and does not mean non Muslims but means what you do at the time of war against the person that attacked you or is a threat to you and you are defending yourself. Islam gives a person the right to defend themselves and not attack randomly.

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, Allah loves not the transgressors.
And if they incline towards peace, incline thou also towards it, and put thy trust in Allah. Surely, it is He Who is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
He it is who has sent down to thee the Book; in it there are verses that are firm and decisive in meaning - they are the basis of the Book - and there are others that are susceptible of different interpretations. But those in whose hearts is perversity pursue such thereof as are susceptible of different interpretations, seeking to cause discord and seeking wrong interpretations of it. And none knows its right interpretation except Allah and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge; they say, 'We believe in it; the whole is from our Lord.' - And none take heed except those gifted with understanding -

No, killing is only allowed when at war or in self defense, Muslims can not aggress against others. Non-combatants can not be killed. Politics uses religions to put forth an agenda, but it doesn't necessary follow the whole religion in its entirety.

LETS QUOTE FROM THE BIBBLE, SHALL WE!
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. (Lu 19:27)
Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women, but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. (Eze 9:6)
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. (Daniel 2:5)

As you can see islam forbids aggrestion by muslims. hence, mulsims should only fight infedils or people who don't believe in god only if they are the agressors.
jews and christians are people of the book not infidels. don't let anyone tell you different.
however god is still angry that they don't believe in the prophet mohamed(pbuh).
