Your number one rule should be to stay away from products that contain mineral oil "grease" "pomade" etc. These weaken the hair and can cause a ton of breakage. Wash your hair twice a week with a diluted shampoo (2 parts shampoo mixed with 4 parts water). When you shampoo, do NOT scratch your scalp, instead massage gently. Get regular trims and hair line edge-ups. At night, wear a doo-rag to prevent additional hair breakage from cotton pillow cases.

As far as products, I live and swear by Oyin products. They are reasonable and contain no mineral oil. Check out their website at www.oyinhandmade.com.

Good Luck! Peace.

Get it edged up. Being that you are a guy its easier to do that. Just go to the parber. As for washing, just wash with your regular shampoo, but make sure you condition it makes your hair way softer and way more cooperative. Also if you buy a hair drier with a comb attachment it dries and picks at the same time so it works out.
