Line a 10x15" cookie sheet with sides, with good Saltines (no foil)

Melt 1c butter and 1/2c sugar together and bring to rolling boil, stirring constantly for 2 minuts.

Pour butter sugar mix over the crackers, and bake for 5-6 mins (it will be bubbling all over)

I posted a made up as I went along recipe for cup cakes somewhere on here (lost somewhere in my questions) that you can actually make into a cake too.

It is a boxed pound cake recipe, that I added poppy seeds, some lemon zest and (strangely enough) Orange flower water to the batter... Adjusting the liquid requirements to suit the amount of orange water you use.

I bought it at an Asian or Indian market, in a bottle and never used it because I didn't know what to do with it? I tried this and completely by accident it was the most delicate and delicious tea cake I had ever had.

As I said, I made it into cup cakes (because I have kids) but you can make little petit fours too, that would be delicious! Cover them with a light pour over type of icing, or just do what I did and use store bought vanilla or cream cheese cake icing... It honestly was delicious.

I didn't measure because I wasn't planning on it coming out good so... I just drizzled it in, not even 2 tbl full if I remember correctly?

Good Luck!

This recipe was my favorite. I'm looking right now at the original 60 year old piece of paper it was written on. (I changed a few things on it through the years). But, my daughter STOLE it from my home when she was in college she denied, denied, denied for years. It was all just fun . . .sorta. I really wanted the original piece of paper back for my collection. It grew into a big family joke of me accusing my daughter for years and she would swear with a big guilty grin that she didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I knew she had it, though. A few years ago, I found it. My MOTHER had swiped it! I found it in her things after she passed away, with a smiley face note attached that said, "Nah nanny poo pooh!" : ) This is yummy:

Delores Delight

1 cup flour
1/4 pound butter (melted)
1.5 cups pecans, chopped fine
1.5 cups Cool Whip ( plus some to top the desert with)
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (8oz.) package cream cheese
1 large and 1 small package Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding
4 cups cold milk
1 Heath Candy Bar

Use 9 X 13 baking pan. Mix flour, melted butter and pecans. Press into pan to make bottom crust. Bake @ 350* for 15-20 minutes. Cool completely.

Whip 1.5 cups Cool Whip, powdered sugar and cream cheese. Spread over cooled crust.

Mix large and small packages of Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding with 4 cups cold milk. Spread over cheese layer.

Top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with crumbled Heath bar just before serving. Keep refridgerated. (Enjoy!)

I would say, don't spend too much time stressing what to make. It can be simple & fabulous at the same time. CUP CAKES. whatever flavor you want. People love cup cakes now a days, they are so popular & yummy, it makes the dinner table shine! don't forget the cheesecake frosting on the top! here's a simple cupcake recipe:

1 Betty Crocker LEMON CAKE MIX
1 can CRUSHED PINEAPPLE

follow the steps on the Betty Crocker box of what other simple ingredients to mix (i.e -milk, eggs, butter) mix all ingredients together along with the crushed pineapples. Bake in cupcake pans (how ever much you need) top the cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, sprinkle sheds of white chocolate on the top!
I guarantee you all these cup cakes will be eaten at that party.

GOOD LUCK

Pretzel salad, beter than it sounds
1 large bag of of mini pretzels
1 strawberry package of jello
1 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
1 large tub of cool whip
1 cup of sugar
1/2 butter
16 oz package frozen strawberries

crush in a bag, rolling pin works well, all pretzels into an almost powder form
mix with sugar and and melted butter and press into bottom of pan, bake at 350 for 20 min
mix cool whip and creamcheese and spread onto cooled pretzel crust, cool in fridge for an hour

disolve jello in 1 cup hot water, then add still frozen strawberries just slightly defrosted so they're separated, not a cube
and spread over cream cheese mixture in pan ( after it being in fridge for an hour), cool in fridge for 2-4 hours untill set and solid like jello
Now you have 3 pretty layers, each a different color and texture that compliment eachother well.
