I've read some really good answers on here and I think I've given some decent answers too. But every good answer still has at least one thumbs down. Which leads me to believe some people must give every answer a thumbs down without even reading them.

I, too, think there's some people who just go through questions and give thumbs down just to be doing it. It has happened to me, too, when I thought my answers were good - maybe not the best -but, I do try to give helpful answers.

I have noticed a pattern.

3 people come in give good advice, poster four comes in gives the same advice, but the 3 people above him now have thumbs down when he has no rating.

I think some people just like to get their answer to stick out. Another trend I notice is people who copy someone else answer word for word post it as their own and then thumb down the same person they took the answer from in the same question.

Personally I thumb up good thought out helping answers and I do not usually thumb down an answer unless its rude or you can tell they didn't bother to even read the posters question.

EDITED TO ADD:

As "Man with a "small" member" just proved exactly what I was saying above..

I must admit if I get a thumbs down answer when I think I have given a fairly reasonable, well thought out one I tend to get a bit narky ( cheesed off) and give the person below or above me a thumbs down. Mean I know, but at least I am being honest....

if the person doesn't agree with u, he will give u a thumbs down. no matter how good the answer is. I think there's a lot of prejudice on answers. u will get thumbs down if u are with a particular group, party, religion. etc.

I only give thumbs down to inappropriate answers personally

They probably do that so to make their answer look good. I admit I give thumbs down on other people's questions occasionally but this is because they had given very very crappy answers.

If I give what I think is a honest answer (positive or negative) and I get a unjustified thumbs down, I only think it is fair that everyone else get one too.

Just so I blend in and really, it doesn't affect anything does it.

I got 9 bad ratings yesterday for a honest answer and I was laughing my *** off!!!

I have to agree. It's pretty mean of them to do that. I know that some of my answers were 'best answers' with a thumbs down on some of them.

How 'bout a "thumbs down" to the question?

Thumbs DOWN! :-)

(thumbs UP to the questioner though! That avatar is cute.)
