Next to HDMI, which is better for a quality picture: Composite video or S-Video?

Do more expensive cables make a difference, or are the more expensive cables (ie, monster cables) just a selling ploy.

Thank you

From low to high quality:

Coax
Composite
S-video
Component
VGA
BNC
DVI
HDMI

Yes, more expensive cables make a difference, but I believe you can still find cables with the same quality, but cheaper than Monster. Monster is overpriced and you are really just buying their brand-name.

The thickness of the cable, gauge and shielding all make a difference. These really only come into play when you are planning on using cables beyond 15 feet. If you are using less than 15 ft, then any cable will basically work. No need to spend tons of money for short distances.

I'd use good old COMPONENT cables if there was no HDMI...These are the red, blue and green "RCA" cables.

Monster Cable offers a GREAT product, but not for what their charging...I use RG6 for ALL my interconnects...I just put ADAPTORS in each end to turn them into RCA cables.

It's SO easy to make you own...It's simple, requires FEW tools and it's INEXPENSIVE...Click the link below to check it out:

It's GOTTA be "RG6"..."RG59" won't cut it!!!
(You'll need a crescent wrench and pair of pliers)
(No wire stripping or crimping at all)
