I got the new MS Word 07 Beta nd it worked perfectly for about a month and then suddenly when I tried opening it it said that I have insufficient memory or disk space to run Word. I tried to free up space on my computer by deleting files and clearing up memory by closing applications but it still says the same thing. Any Ideas?

Actually deleting things on the computer will not help unless they are under the list of running applications on your task manager. Don't go deleting stuff on the processes though because you could really mess things up. The easiest thing without ruining your computer is to get a little bit more memory maybe 128-256 mb which would make the computer stop "thrashing" so the processor would not have to work so hard. That amount of memory at even a quick speed should be between 25-$50 max. If you want to try to get rid of those processes you can with some programs I imagine but the program may cost you as much as the new memory.

By memory, it doesn't mean hardrive memory. It means RAM memory, the memory in which all the processes of the computer occur. To free up this memory, turn off some running processes. There are too many computer programs running in your computer. A more expensive way is to buy RAM memory cards in an office supply store. Hope this helps

1. Right click the "My PC" Icon, and click on Properties. Go to the "Advanced Options" Tab and click on the first link the one on the "Performance" area.
Go to the "Advanced Options" tab, and click on the "virtual memory" link.
Click on the personalized size, and put on the "maximum size" box the same number you have on "available space" (look above the "maximum size" text.
Click OK, and go. This should help you work with word.

There may be some tabs and links that aren't spelled correctly. That's because I have a version in Spanish, and I'm translating the links.

To free RAM disable auto run for programs you dont usually run.
To free disk space. try deleting time to time you .tmp files, Broswer caches, unwated softwares.
Also to speed up ur system keep the HD sector clear in which you keep OS. I prefer making minimum 2 sectors one for OS and other for data and programs.
Last but not the lest check of worms/ spywares and viruses for the system if all above are actually cleam. Good luck!

Ending unneeded running processes.
Defraging or deleting things will not do anything for your memory...

To end running processes :
press Ctrl+Alt+ Del
under the Processes tab, end all unnecessary processes
Theres some you need open such as explorer.exe

most of the time that is a disk space error and not memory. you probably need to clean up your temp files, remove any files you no longer need and run a scan disk.

go into the control panel-then to add or remove programs, hten look for things you don't need/ use. if you click on one it should say how much memory space its taking up and how often you use it. Then simply press remove.

Good Luck
