Why do most girls say that they get along better with guys??

I'm one of those women who gets along better with men than women, but, I found that my female friendships are the most important to me, and a guy friend can never be quite the same. So now I work very hard to maintain my female friendships, although it does not come naturally.

I will tell you what the difference is, why people tend to get along with one gender (in general) than the other.

COMMUNICATION STYLE.

Men in general and women in general have pretty different communication styles/norms. They are basically two different cultures. I would say, women are much more sensitive to small details than men, and that sensitivity is encouraged and not noticing those small things is frowned upon in women's circles. In men's circles, little things typically don't mean much and the overall thing is what really matters. In fact, if you get too upset over something small (for example, something that was "just a joke, geez",) that is frowned upon in men's circles.

So in male-female friendships, chances are you can be an *** to you him today and he will still be you best friend because you know he's really there for you. The friendship is not harmed. But if you are an *** to your female friend today, you have a LOT of making up to do because you really hurt her feelings badly. You might, in fact, be screwed. She may never forgive you and never even tell you she's upset or what about (giving you absolutely no chance to make it up.) Women expect people, especially other women, to pay attention to what they are doing/saying at all times, and tend to interpret much more actions/words as meaningful and intentional.

This also highly contributes to male-female relationship problems too. It seems like they're both speaking English so they think they're on the same page, but men and women have really been taught to play by different rules.

Obviously this is all a generalization since I'm female and have learned more of the male culture and have to work hard now to re-learn the female culture. In a way this will probably make me less able to be a buddy to my guy friends, but I am trying to preserve my knowledge of that world too -- but like I mentioned earlier, I've realized just how important female friends are, so even if I do lose some buddy-status among my guys, that's something I'm willing to lose.

Cause generaly speaking girls are pretty awful to eachother. I'm lucky I have a great set of female friends but were not the normal set of girls i dont think. I moved in with a girl and shes the most using person i've ever met. Her exact words were why be friends with someone if you can't use them for anything... I could rant for a long time about the crapy stuff shes done but i think in alot of ways she expelifys the tipical female. Not to say that guys arent @sses but at least there pretty honest about the fact.

Guys tend to hve an I don't care attitude. So it's easier for them to stay friends. Also, lets not forget that if the girl looks good; the guy will always treat her good during the "courting" process.

Because men can talk about lots of different subjects and tend to accept you as you are more so. Women tend to backbite a lot and weigh you up - the typical girly games. This isa genral though; there are lots of nice women and lots of bitchy men around too!

Because guys don't gossip about other girls, they don't dislike a girl because of the way she dresses or her beauty etc.

Guys talk about women in a different way they don't relate to mindless chatter.

they don't get caught up in the little things, most guys are much more laid back then girls are and more low maintenence. plus their not so girly, so its like they compliment you and your way of thinking by the difference

woman tend to be always competeing with other woman even best friends. men arm wrestle and the compition is over and woman just go on till the end of time. woman dont have to compete with men

i'm closer to my friends that r ladies- yet it incredibly is only because of the fact ive commonplace them consistently. adult adult males are incredibly trouble-free to get alongside with because of the fact there is not lots drama. additionally you may ask them for suggestion. yet with adult adult males it is complicated to compliment no remember in case you have chose to be greater beneficial than friends, yet different than that i like being friends with adult adult males and ladies. i don't basically %. i'm friends with the two.

Maybe b/c they just do. Maybe b/c other girls don't really like them. There could be lots of reasons.
