I live in the state of Mass. and I'm hearing impaired. Everyone tells me that as a student with a disability, I can get into a state school for free... does anyone have a clue on how i can find that out?

The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Program is designed to help the disabled achieve employment by providing support and services. It even provides job coaches, job placement assistance, assistive technology, and guidance along with college or vocational training. The individual college should have information in their disability services office, and with the proper documenation, they can also provide services that make college more accessible to the you. However, I also recommend filling out the FAFSA form.

Fastweb. Google it. I am not sure if it is fastweb.gov or not. Look into your states financial aid as well. California has a Cal Grant.
and go to your local community or university and apply and they will find out after you apply that you qualify for financial aid. Apply for the FAFSA online (you will need your college code) and then you will find that you qualify. I went to a community college and they had a department called DSPS (Disabled Students Program and Services) and they helped me with things that I could have besides financial aid. Like a tape recorder in class and a note taker and using Dragon and Kerswell or whatever it is called. Use all of the college's resources. If have have children and make under a certian amount of money-they will help you even more. See your financial aid advisor at the school of your choice. Let them know that you are hearing impaired. You will probably get the help you need and a note taker. You will also be asked to take a test to find out about any other disablities you may have. I am a visual learner and I process things slower-I qualified for 1.5x extra on exams, and for the spelling ace.
