A friend of mine takes the tobacco out of Cuban cigarettes. She says all of the other chemicals aren't there. I don't know if she's right or not but give it a look.

Hardly any cigarettes have 'added chemicals'. What they do have is different tobacco types blended togther and perhaps a touch of sugar or licorice. The chemicals present in tobacco are due to the natural processes that occur when you burn organic matter. The only way to avoid chemicals is not to smoke.

Brands like Native American Spirit are branded with the type of information such as additative free etc specifically to tap into a smokers desire to smoke something that is better for them. However, they don't say better for you and still have a health warning.

If you can find the chemical composition of American Spirit anywhere you will see it is pretty much the same as any other cigarette.

Lastly, American Spirit tastes awful as it doesn't contain any natural ingredients to 'mellow' the smoke.

One thing to do try is Snus - A tobacco product that you don't smoke.

If you must use tobacco and are afraid of chemical additives, try dried cabbage leaves. When I was but a stripling youth we tried smoking dry elderberry twigs, they go dry, the bark rubs off and the twig is honeycombed, We enjoyed the heady feelings it gave us, and the taste but most of the smokers went down with some form of jaundice and we all had our eye whites go yellow. I can tell the tale, but can't reccomend anyone try it.
