I adoped the feral cat because my house cat adopted her first. My house cat, and now the feral cat, have been fixed. Is there anything I can do to prevent the feral cat from peeing on the furniture?

You should try to keep her in a pen/carrier or small room with a litterbox until she gets the hang of using it. Once the cat uses it consistently you can let her out.

Probably not. Feral cats are really hard to train. That's because the cat has no investment in you, the trainer. Believe it or not, even cats (not feral) care about what their owners want and will adjust their behavior accordingly.

I tried to make a feral kitten into a house cat, and he did okay for a little while, but everytime there was any changes to the household, like moving furniture or any loudness (I have three boys) he would freak and mark his territory which was my bed quilt!
I wound up finding a place for the kitten with a man who had about thirty barn cats that hung out on his 500 acres of land in the middle of Mississippi. They had free run of the place after they were spayed or neutered and the man kept an old pot bellied stove lit in the barn during the winter for them.
People would just bring these half wild cats to him. He said he had a debt to pay, something about his wild youth and mistreating cats........

It is really hard to train a Feral and because they are "wild" so to speak they urinate to more than likely mark territory. He/She doesn't sound aggressive or threatened byt the other cat. All you can do is try to train he/she by taking her/him to the litter box and cleaning up the urine. Its also a good idea if you have friends over to make sure they try not to carry fur or scent from other pets in either. That could cause problems as well. Good luck!

buy a spray bottle and fill it with water. Every time the cat tries to go on the couch spray her. It wont hurt them and they will learn. I have done this to one of my cats and it worked. Your cat wont hate you for it either. My cat is still always by my side.
