Don't get caught up in contrast ratio.
That number makes sense when there is no ambient light.
Even in a movie theater, the best you get is ~200:1.

At work, your monitor is getting about 20:1

1080p is noticeable regardless of lighting conditions so it will have the best picture quality.

Do the 1080 P /1080i unit....MUCH MORE DETAIL!

The 6000 : 1 TV will have various shades of black you'll see, and maybe more Black detail....but that's all that a 6000 : 1 may have over a 1000 : 1 TV....and that 1000 : 1 will probably do a good job with black too.....

You want to have the most lines of resolution you can get.....
