Hi,

He will heal fine. In about a week, he will be good to go again.
I can understand your concern but everything you have mentioned sounds normal.

The pus is from his body rejecting infectious material in his body, and it will continue to go down until it is gone completely.

If you are still concerned and you parents will not take him to a vet, call the humane society and mention and ask about the pus and see what they have to say. They may be able to tell you what to do at no charge.

Don't think his leg is cause of his weak meows, as when he recovers, he will be good as new.

I have a big Maine Coon Tomcat and he got into a big fight and was acting much like your cat. Cat fights can be vicious, but you should see what the other cat looks like.

Your parents are right about not taking him to the vet now. They will want to keep him overnite etc and wind up with a big bill, when he could heal up find by himself.

Plenty of rest and love from you, and he will be good as new.
He is very fortunate to have you,

He will be ok,

Darryl S.

Even though your parents are picky about vet bills and stuff...GO TO THE VET!!!!!! your cat can probably have a bad infection that can spread very badly.... wait a little while longer before you go to the vet because the "bubble" could just be an over swollen scratch. give you cat much attention and care because he is going through a very tough time and a painful time..

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

He HAS to go to the vet for a shot of antibiotics, or you could lose him! He has an abcess that is draining, but a very will need to look him over carefully to make sure there are not others. If he feels hot to the touch and has a dry hot nose, he could have a temp as high as 105. It can be LIFE THREATENING!
I know what I'm talking about I used to have a male cat that needed antibiotics about 4 different times for serious bite wounds.
All you vet techs on here! Please tell her about it!

your parents are cheap and shouldn't have an animal if they can properly provide for it. SORRY! Yes, this cat is in pain due to the leg injury and needs medical attention. Check with a humane society and let them know your cat was injured and see if they can recommend a cheap or free pet clinic in your area. There are so many thing a cat can get outside not to mention contract from another animal, try to keep the cat inside more at night so its less likely to get into catfights. Good luck to the cat

The claw is a factor of the bone of the final toe joint. So sure, as a manner to declaw a cat they final toe joint must be amputated. Cats walk on their feet, so this alters their gate and that they might now not stretch like they might desire to between those 2 issues, cats strengthen early arthritis. of direction it is painful - it is so painful that it is the operation that pharmaceutical companies use to attempt new soreness drugs. This is a very good example of why a cat should be kept indoors and should be spay/neutered. You wouldn't have such a high vet bill and the cat will not have to suffer the consequences.

Our old cat used to fight squirrels...and come second... Took him to old country vet a few times, the vet got fed up taking money off me!!!!!!!,
His 'method'... get a hypodermic syringe, no needle....fill the syringe with Hydrojen peroxide (Like the girlies use for bleaching hair) weak mix, mind. Towel over lap,Get hold of cat, identify where the 'top' of the wound is,(if needs be trim fur off) Remove the top of the wound, the puss will flow out. Gently ease the tip of the syringe into the hole, squeeze and wash out the wound. Repeat the process, except with 'Savlon' antiseptic ointment. The poor moggy will be feeling bad from the abcess, give him saucer of milk, allow to sleep quietly for a few hours....
This approach over the years has saved me a small fortune, and my neighbors as well.Use my E-Mail, its on my profile...Probably the cat is a bit bruised. Maybe, a cracked rib...
Same old moggy that had scraps with squirerels came second with a car, broke his pelvis, vet said"ok, put him in a box, with bed, food and litter tray, for about a month, he'll be fine." and, he was... Early on, without box etc, he wanted to do his jobbies, he would lay on his side(could not walk) pull soil a bit to get hole, drag himself over, do jobbie, drag back, cover.... But, after a month he was up and about. For the 'softies'...yes, it was a combined (me & him) job to make the hole, help him to the right spot, fill it up and then let him check it.....shame....

Why do you own a cat if you can't take it to the vet? That is cruel! How would you like it if you were covered with pus filled wounds and no one did anything to help you?

Do you know that what you are doing (not getting your cat proper care) is considered NEGLECT and is illegal? Give the cat to someone that can take care of it properly.

the same thing happened to my cat. my mom waited until the morning so there wont be an emergency room fee. she might have felilne aids. if u really care about this cat, yo uneed to take it in. feline aids is contageous, so if you have other cats (im not sure about other animals) they most likely have it. especially if its pussy, ya you need to take it in 2 the vet. to me it doenst matter the cost, as long as the thing is healthy.

hope this helps -catherine
