I always use the one on the back of the chocolate chip bag,it's really good.

I also like the recipe on the back of the Nestle Toll House chocolate chip bag. I always use butter, never margarine or shortening. I usually add just under 1/4 cup extra flour and bake on a baking stone not a metal cookie sheet. Another option is oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I use the cookie recipe on the Quaker oatmeal package, omitting cinnamon and use choc. chips instead of raisins.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 cup softened margarine
1 cup cooking oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspooon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups flour
1 12oz. bag chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a large mixing bowl, add first 10 ingredients and mix well. Gradually the flour and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

This is a family recipe and its really good:

2/3 cup shortening (half butter)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 package (6 oz) chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla in one bowl. Separately combine dry ingredients, sift into mixture. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop rounded spoonfulls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, switch shelves halfway through. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Makees 4 to 5 dozen.

Always have used Toll House. Although the Mrs. Fields recipe is really good. When making the Toll House recipe ~ double the vanilla .... makes for a better tasting cookie

I think Nestle' Tollhouse chocolate chips have the best cookie recipe (on the bag.) I've almost got it memorized, I've made them so much.

Try to divide up the white & brown sugar bc otherwise it's too heavy with just brown sugar.
