I just called my guy to talk and possibly hang out, and literally 30 secs into the conversation, I asked him what he was doing. He said 'watching football' and I said jokingly, 'Do you want me to call you back?' and he goes, 'Yeah'.

Is it okay for me to be annoyed, I haven't seen him in a while. And why is football that important to guys?

Are you a fan of Deperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, ER, etc.? Ever had someone call you right when something exciting is happening? Football is like that for guys. We can get pretty absorbed in that kind of thing pretty quickly. Should you be annoyed? Probably. At the same time, I would try not to take it too personally.

Jeez, let him have his football. Don't you have anything to do? You need to have a life outside of the boyfriend. Here's an idea: Wait for him to call you.

All kinds of stuff is important to all people. I don't want to be bothered when I'm doing yoga in my living room. If my man called and said, should I call you back, I'd say "yes." (However, I probably wouldn't answer the phone in the first place in this situation.)

Let it go. Just keep yourself busy. He'll like you more if you are a well-rounded person with many interests.

You asked and he honestly answered, right? Try not to place people in a position where they have no choice in your mind when you bait them - it's not fair.

He wanted to watch football, no harm in that. You want to be mad only because it seems that he thinks football is more important than you are. In this situation, you interrupted something he was doing (even if it is watching TV) and baited him with a loaded question.

Maybe you should ask him to go to a bar or a restaurant or something where he could watch the game and talk to you at the same time. or maybe you could go over to his house and watch with him.
