Encourage her to start having mature discussions with her parents. Ask them to stop fighting when she is in the house. Unfortunately, many parents are irresponsible and immature themselves. I hope your friend is able to discuss this with her parents.
"Excuse me. I do not appreciate it when you argue in front of me. Please stop or go outside."

Tell her to approach them in a calm/ non fighting time and ask them to please stop fighting in front of her. If they do start fighting in front of her she should be allowed to leave the room or if they're loud, leave to go to a friend or neighbors house for about an hour. Tell her to call before coming home to see if they're done, this should show the parents how immature they are acting. Good Luck! =)

there is nothing you can do to make her parents do any thing, the friend may possibly have a chance if she is willing to sit down and tell them how their fighting affects her and it scares her, there is nothing wrong with her doing this, you might offer to sit by her side for courage, but you will have to keep your mouth closed unless asked for an opinion, then you can say what you see your friend going through, other wise you will just be looked upon as an inter fearing kid,, and that will do no one any good.

She needs to flat out ask them to cool it and work out their differences another way. If they're mature and have any scruples at all they should realize what the effect is. On the other hand, if they're immature and selfish maybe she ought to run out the door each time they do it and give them something else to worry about. Some people don't change and aren't going to.

She should leave a voice activated tape recorder in the living room. When it has picked up a couple of these fights, have her play it back to them when they may actually have time to listen to her.
If not, have her take it to school, and play it for her councelor.
Good luck.
