Then hit him over his inconsiderate head with it!

My neighbor also plays the drum, but he's a lot more respectful. He plays in the mid-afternoon when he gets home from school. I started playing attention to his drumming, and he's not that bad. He has improved tremendously over the last six months. Why don't you copy the name of drumming instructors in your town and then scotch tape the instructors names on his door. I'm sure drummer boy will get the hint.

That's a shame but either he must play them really really loud or the sound proofing in your building must be rubbish. My daughter plays the drums, when she plays them in the bedroom I could hardly hear them in the living room and it's only about 10 feet away, admittedly I had to shut the doors but even so.

He should move in next to my neighbour, who says he's deaf , and that's why he plays his T.V. so loud it keeps my 5 yr old awake at bedtime . ( there could be " noise enclaves " where habitually noisy folk all have to live together and put up with each others noise)
Sympathy to you
Get some headphones, and listen to your fave. music ,blocking out his noise.

yes if it's with a drumstick! But seriously,,,I'd "head this one off before it gets too entrenched"...by saying "hey I don't know if you realize this, but those drums are so loud that they actually woke me up the other night just after 11"....and hope he gets the hint...if not,,,,,you can always start playing the trombone at 6am, right next to the wall...

You might want to let them know that they are supposed to keep the noise down after certain times, we live in an apartment block, its 9pm here although its 11pm in some places.

i bet it's tempting - i know it would drive me totally nuts too, but as i'm sure u already know, it's not a good idea to resort to violence.... the best thing u can do is speak to other people who live in your apartment block - see if they are pee'd off by the noise too, it'll have more effect if there are a few of u complaining..... also, if u have a caretaker for the building, complain to him about it.......

No, but it is o.k. to ask him to keep it down. Most states have a noise ordinance that prohibits loud noises past 10:00pm.

Yeah, of course it is. If you get caught, tell the police he disturbed you watching " SOAPSTAR SUPERSTAR " and youll walk free from court on the grounds of temporary insanity. Youd need to be f_ck_n nuts to sit through that.
