I am just sitting in my room and watching a burning tealight, it makes the atmosphere so cozy... And I'm wondering, just how much energy am I setting free with this small candle? Any ideas on that one?
It is a standard size, 4cm diameter, about 1,8 cm high.

Very little. Remember that the word "calorie" is used in two ways. A true calorie is the amount of energy required to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Centigrade. Your candle probably cannot do this.

However, when we talk about the number of calories in food, we are really talking about 1,000 real calories. In other words, we are a bit sloppy with our language. If there are 100 "calories" in a serving of potato chips, we really mean 100 * 1,000 or 100,000 real calories!
