If you love your son then you'll tell him "UP YOURS GET YOUR OWN!!!".

i used to have the same problem i wanted to play my play station too , i just had to let my son have his go too. arn't we always saying to the children "you have to share" . maybe you could buy some two player games and then you both will have fun . last year i had to go and buy another memory card and clearly put "MUMMY" on it so that i could share the play station with my son, it is a thing called sacrifice, or not being so selfish, after all would you not do anything for your young son? i know that i would , i would do without . and what's this "he doesnt earn money to buy his own", catch a grip

My son was addicted he wont let my partner play either hes been nabbing it since her was 3. We wouldnt hear him for ages and hed be on the ps2 but i found it was to unhealthy for him onit all the time. Plus the novelty wears off give him a go and by next week he wont be bothered.

No dilemma, share with him. I assume this is a half jokey Q or you are only 14 years old! Make sure you have games suitable for his age and go for it, it'll be fun watching him master those controls and start kicking your butt!
Also when he's older and all the technology is beyond you, he won't help you into your virtual suit if you don't share now.
Also please please make sure when he's about that you don't prioritise PS2 over him. He is much more interesting and rewarding.

i would suggest buying him a different console such as a nintendo or a ps 1 to start with, the games are brill for young children, especially as they start computers in school so young now. Gives them an insight to co ordination and organised play! You can pick up megadrives also for pennies and are not broken easily!! Give him a chance, you may be surprised. He just wants to join in the fun.

Give me a break. Your the grown up. Its not just yours anymore. Your supposed to be teaching your son how to share. Shame on you. Make sure that your not letting him play violent games also.

I have my own PS2 also, to play Dance Dance Revolution. My daughter is starting to play with me. She also has one game that she can play when she has my permission. Kids need to learn to share (by example is a great way to teach it). Just make sure he asks first. It's ok to have things that don't belong to the kids. Kids need to learn to respect other people's property. However, you should be able to share when you aren't using it.

OK here is what i did to get my husband to share his toy.Go out and get some games that are good for his age. They have lots of them.Go to a pawn shop or like place and get a controller just for him{so he dose not wreck yours} Then sit down with him and play!set rules tell him that he is only to touch his controller.and he is only to play his games if mommy{that's if you are willing to share with her} or daddy is there to play with or help him.

Get another one - a second hand one is pretty cheap.

Alternatively, learn to share - you'll want your son to learn to share so lead by example.

If you love a game system more than your child you ought not be a parent. Give the kid a damn turn and stop being selfish. He won't be interested in it that long and then when he wanders off to do something else you can go back to ignoring him.

You are a mom and not willing to share? shame on you... I hate to think about the days when he needs $5 for something. And, when you have kids, what is yours is theirs too. That is messed up. You could at least sit with him and show him how to play and give him time on it... again.. shame on you
