which is strange since Jesus said in quite a few different ways ...

Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

and then these supposed Christians exacerbate their hypocracy claiming the Old Testament laws no longer apply because Jesus provided a new covenent yet site OT law as justification for their bigotry against gay folks.

if you are gay bashing Christian please explain to me how you are not a hypocrite when you point out the sin of homosexuality while you are filthy with your own sins and why gay folks are under Hebrew law while you are not. thank you.

note... Jesus seemed to have a particular dislike for hypocrites.

The beam & mote analogy is actually the best way to "hate the sin but love the sinner." That's something for people to think about on their own I guess.

But when people are usually talking about other people, what they're *really* trying to say is, "That's not me." To put someone else down is to implicitly build yourself up. This is because we tend to view concepts as opposites. So the opposite of "they" and "bad" has the implied message of "us" & "good."

Whether you are Gay or Christian, please remember it matters not what other humans think of you. Everyone is accountable for their actions, but only to God. If people would have more passion and concern about what GOD THINKS of them, this back and forth exchange would not even exist.

Many of you may not realize this, but these disagreements, are only DISTRACTIONS and subtle tools of manipulation to keep your focus off of God. One is either "obsessing" over the sins of others, or "obsessing" over those who judge them.

Either way, both sides are "obsessing".

Matthew 7:1 (King James Version)

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Matthew 7:5 (King James Version)

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

It's impossible to focus on two things at once. Focus on God, and what others say or do, won't be as important.

Wake up! God Bless!

I would have to agree with you.......that many "Christians" tend to judge others before themselves. I also believe that it was hippocrites that crucified Jesus. I disagree about their statement about the Old Testament. I believe that the Old Testament has a lot of good stuff to learn from. Now I don't agree with the gay lifestyle at all. But I won't disrespect them nor judge them for it. I have many in my family who are gay, and I've never disrespected them in any way, shape, or form. They're always welcome in my house. Just because I don't agree with their lifestyle doesn't mean I don't love my family members. I don't agree with gay bashing either. If a "Christian" is trying to convert someone who is gay, they won't do it by bashing them. Have a great day.

I dont think Gay Bashing is reserved just for Christians. Bigotry is a problem all over. Not just in Religion.

We Christians are taught to love all of God's Children.

As a Christian, I absolutely love your post. I'm not a gay-bashing Christian, so I can't answer your question, though.

I believe Jesus would have hung out with gay folks before hanging out with any of the people hatin' on them.

god i love a mystery
you intrigue me nebtet

i have reviewed your questions and answers.

you are sharp as a whip, irreverent and ambiguous , seem to have disdain for religion one moment then act orthodox and pious the next, you seem extremely self-righteous, playfully sarcastic and have a capacity for compassion and kindness and show a vast knowledge of the subject of spirituality and you stick closely to it, rarely crossing over into other subjects.

i can't for the life of me figure out what drives you or is informing your way of being ....nor make a picture in my mind of the type of person that would operate like this...very interesting indeed....

do I have to ask religious/spirituality questions to get a rise out of you?

Romans Chapter 1: 26-27 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. (NLT)

Homosexuality (to turn against or abandon natural relations of sex) was as widespread in Paul’s day as it is in ours. Many pagan practices encouraged it. God is willing to receive anyone who comes to him in faith, and Christians should love and accept others no matter what their background. Yet, homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Scripture (Leviticus 18:22). Homosexuality is considered an acceptable practice by many in our world today—even by some churches. But society does not set the standard for God’s law. Homosexuals believe that their desires are normal and that they have a right to express them. But God does not encourage us to fulfill all our desires (even normal ones). Those desires that violate his laws must be controlled.
If you have these desires, you can and must resist acting upon them. Consciously avoid places or activities you know will kindle temptations. Don’t underestimate the power of Satan to tempt you, or the potential for serious harm if you continue to yield to these temptations. Remember, God can and will forgive sexual sins just as he forgives other sins. Surrender yourself to God, asking him to show you the way out of sin and into the light of his freedom and his love. Prayer, Bible study, and loving support of Christians in a Bible-believing church can help you to gain strength to resist these powerful temptations. If you are already deeply involved in homosexual behavior, seek help from a trustworthy, professional, Christian counselor.

i agree that many Christians seem obsessed with "sexual sin" i. e. homosexuality, abortion, extramarital activity etc but will argue that we are SUPPOSED to judge. I think they missed Jesus' point as well as the commandment to love. He said the world would know we're his disciples by our love...not our condemnation. All I know to do is keep on loving-even the judges!

just having an oppinion? funny thing is, right wing christian groups that mount high profile campaigns to ban or resist the passage of gay marraige, they say nothing about corporate fraud and lies, pludering, envirnmental destruction, and war. in fact, some high up evangelicals wanted to pursue greater corporate honesty and accountability, and the christian right rejected them. so is it about god, or politics?

at any rate, the sexual preferences of 10% of the population or less are far less harmful to a world in god's image than the greed, gluttony, materialism, and untruthful pervasive in our society - and yet the only thing i hear christian groups take action on is gay marriage.
