Usually, no they can't do any thing more that give you fluids to keep you hydrated ( pedialyte is the best but Gatorade will work) and take some Imodium. Unless it has been going on for a couple of days then you need to see a dr.

You don't need to go to a hospital unless you have a high fever anything over 102 degrees, or if you are unable to get enough fluids into your body due to your diarrhea, or if the cramping with the diarrhea is so severe you can't stand the pain. Most likely you have a case of food poisoning which is very common now days with the way in which our food items (dairy and meat) are processed at the factories. Even if you had the flu (which the symptoms do not sound like) there is nothing the doctor can do for you. If you have food poisoning, it has to work it's way out of your body on it's own. The doctor can give you something to ease the cramping and the nausea but that is all. It usually takes a good 5 days before you are better.

I dont really think that you need to go to the hospital for the stomach flu. I would just relax for awhile, give it a day or two, if it passes you are fine... if you throw up for more than 3 days in a row, then go to the hospital.. otherwise, just rest. you dont need the hospital.

Don't waste hospital time. Keep warm, drink fluids and rest. It is not an emergency that needs a hospital visit
