More proof of the morality we should derive from that ancient yet horrific fairytale.

God in it is a vile, evil, jealous hateful monster - we're very lucky he doesn't exist.

The Septuagint more properly renders this passage in the Greek as young lads and refers to grown youths and would not be unlike the gangs of young people that terrorize the inner cities of today.
The area that Elisha was entering was Bethel and it was spiritually dominated by the phoenician Idolatries and practices under the prophets of Baal which no doubt were the instigators of putting these young thugs up to harrassing this prophet of God.
They were idolatrous infidels that doubted the rapture of Elisha's master Elijah in the fiery chariot and sarcastically urged him to follow in his masters footsteps. Their intent was to discredit the prophet and cast ridicule upon the report of Elijah's translation to the heavens.
Elisha's curse upon the young men was not done in a fit of irritation or resentment but merely a prohetic pronouncement of that which God Himself was about to do to them for their incessant harrassment of not only Elisha, but Elijah as well.
In those times the phrase "baldhead" was an epithet of contempt which refered to the contrast between Elijah and Elisha.

if God doesn't honor and respect His prophet then how can He expect anyone else to listen to that prophet? God demands respect!

Well, as usual, you've taken a bible story and interpreted it to prove your own theories about the evilness of God so you won't have to deal with his existence.
In the first place these people who mocked Elisha were not innocent little children. They were wicked young men, comparable to a modern street gang. Because of this the prophet Elisha's life was endangered by their number, the vileness of their sin (which was far more serious then just mocking his baldness), and the fact that they obviously had no respect for authority.
Their sin was especially despicable because they weren't just making fun of an old man, they were insulting God Himself because Elisha was His mouthpiece.
Third, Elisha's action was designed to strike fear in the hearts of other gang members. If they were not afraid to attack the prophet of God then what would hold them back from harming others.
Before you start jumping to conclusions, why don't you do a little research first? There is always more to these stories than is directly communicated in the words. Remember, the listeners of the day knew all the side stories and ramifications of the tale so they didn't need to be explained to them.

Had TOO MUCH coffee the night before?

There's no explaining it.
