You usually see that they're ill in the change of appetite and behaviour, if she normally is very affectionate, and eats a lot, and is now very unsociable and hardly eating a lot it'll be a sign. The biggest sign though is not eating. If she has black things under her nostrils it'd probably best to take her to the vet as she might have a case of the snuffles, this also might be the cause of her change in behaviour

Take your cat to the vet. Most vet offices will help out clients with financial arrangements if you are unable to afford the expense. If you've never had a cat, it may be that her behavior is normal...you're just not used to it. Cats are very solitary creatures. They tend to lie around all day, licking themselves or sleeping, sometimes getting spurts of energy that cause them to tear through your home like crazy monsters, but otherwise they are pretty lazy. Overall, if you are worried about the kitty, take it to the vet. Good luck!

usually a cat will behave more restless and sleeps even more. she will not eat and drink as much quantity when ill. better to take her to a vet for a check-up.

I have always been able to tell if my cat is sick by feeling his nose. If it feel cool he is all right, if it feels warm, and it does not get cool within an hour HE GOES TO THE VET because he is sick.

when cats are ill you can usually tell pretty easily their apetite changes, their personality changes and they are usually not very active and they are moody.
