If a girl I've just met gives me her phone number (after some conversation) so that we can do an activity together with my friends (bowling for example), does this mean she just looks at me as a friend? Or does she want me to ask her out and this is her way of hinting? How do I find out?

What you should do is call her to have a DATE, not to go out with your friends. You need to talk to HER, not a whole group of people. So, wait a few days, and make a brief phone call (about five minutes) trying to arrange a SPECIFIC time to get together ALONE with her. Coffee or lunch at a fast food place sounds good. If she likes you, she'll go along with anything reasonable like that. If she doesn't, or just wants free food, that will show in due time. Just pay attention and keep your own feelings from causing you to hallucinate. Good luck!
Dr. Dave is right in a way . . . when a girl likes you, she WILL give you her phone number. But the converse is not always true. If it were, how many of us would have tons of girls liking us? The fact is that women give their phone numbers to guys even if they're only barely interested, or just don't have the nerve to shoot you down. So don't jump to conclusions, ok?

If it were me and I was giving a number out just like you described above..it would be my way of telling you that I am interested in getting to know you better. We could end up being friends or more. She obviously wants to see you more and to get to know you better. So take her up on it and see where the journey goes! Good Luck!!

When a girl gives you her phone number she is intersted in you. She will expect you to call, and perhaps on how the conversation goes, ask her out, to which she will respond yes or no.
Take a chance - call her - if you like her.

See what she says when u say.... would u like to go out with me on a date? or do u think i can ask u out sometime? U will see her reaction ...then she will clarify the rest.Although u should have asked her out when she gave u her no...but it's never 2 late.Good Luck :)

It could be either, go out and hang out with her as planned, and see how she acts towards you. Then things should be more clear. If she flirts etc. try asking her to do something one on one, and if not, play it cool and be her friend. Good luck!

It could mean just about anything, but she does want to spend time with you. Go for it. Spend time with her. It will be fun, and you will learn important social skills that will lead to "something more". Good luck, but remember to also have fun.

If she says do something else, then she likes you as more than a friend.
