I need a very simple cordless phone that can be placed down in the charger for charging. This person that I'm looking for it for cares a lot about how things look and she wants its small, white and face down.

Walmart is good and maybe option number 1. But if you have a Big Lots, Roses, Maxway, or possibly even at Kmart you may be able to get a better price for what you are looking for and they may have a larger selection of basic phones than Walmart or Best Buy.

Look at your local Walmart. When I was searching for a white cordless phone at Christmas, noticed that they were selling what you are looking for. If they don't have it at the store, check online. I believe the price was $20 or less (here in SC)

If she's so picky about how things look, point her in the direction of the nearest Best Buy or Radio Shack, and tell her to do her own shopping. If she doesn't like it, are you going to return it for her, too??

You should try Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City or any phone company.

Bye bye
Good luck!

Donate her 30 dollars and send her to Walmarts.
