My almost 9 year old daughter is autistic and will probably never go to the bathroom on her own. She has to wear diapers day AND night and you're right, that was an extreme money burden. If your family is truly hurting in a monetary way and you qualify for at least as much help as a Medicaid program, they will pay for the diapers with a doctors prescription. UPS brings them right to my house once a month (they ALSO send wipes) boxed in plain cardboard. I do nothing they auto ship them. So I would see if you can qualify for a Medicaid program (just for the child) at your local Social Services. It has helped my family ALOT!!!

We have two bedwetters... age 6 and 11 both boys. Tena makes some youth Diapers that are very cheap compared to the goodnites. They are about 1/2 the price. We were using goodnites on the 11 year old, but swiched him over to his brothers brand. the 11 year old is a little modest but we don't make a big deal about it and he usually doesn't mind.

He will proabbly outgrow it by the time he is 12 or 13 our oldest son did.

my little brother, also 10, does the same thing although he isn't autistic he has other learning disabilites, i also babysit a little boy who is now 11 that has the same problem and does not have any disabilites that i am aware of, their bladders are just developing at different rates so give it some time or maybe talk to the doctor about it

You said yourself he's autistic, so no matter what he does, it's not going to really be "normal" in the developmental years.

Even normal children have problems sometimes around this age.

For now, use rubber sheets under the blankets and put a pullup on him.

I know it's degrading, but maybe put it on him after he falls asleep.

Tell him he has to learn to hold it in and to try to practice holding it in.
