American citizens are at an alarming increasing rate of uneducated academic dilema.

75% of graduates are from other countries around the world that come here toget an education, then go back to their country to put better use of their education.

Is this a conection between racism here in America and should we consider spending this 10 billion dollars on something more beneficial to everyone?

Education is dangerous for the powers-that-be, so you'll see less and less money spent on it, as a percent of the total.

Hate is good: it keeps people divided, caring about things that are irrelevant, while they all get fleeced.

I am confused.

First you say "American citizens are at an alarming increasing rate of uneducated academic dilema" & then "75% of graduates are from other countries around the world that come here toget an education, then go back to their country to put better use of their education".

Why should American citizens pay for non-citizens education?

You go on to say "Is this a conection between racism here in America and should we consider spending this 10 billion dollars on something more beneficial to everyone?" - how is it racism to protect our borders & not waste our tax dollars on NON-CITIZENS?

It sounds like you are the racist.

The public schools of America are a complete mess. The system is so flawed it makes me sick to think that the children being "educated" by it learn to follow the masses. it discourages creative and more importantly -independent- thinking. Children from poor areas (and I'm not talking about states rear the Mexican border, there is poverty in EVERY state of the US) suffer especially.. they grow up and often can't afford college and can't get scholarship because they can't get high enough test scores, even if they're smart enough, they just need to be taught in a way that is right for them. Schools need to have more teachers so the classrooms aren't over-crowded, they need to have better systems for teaching so the slower learners aren't confused and lost and the faster learners aren't held back. i think that is incredibly more important then keeping people out of the US (which was built on the backs of immigrants anyways). I believe that immigrants shouldn't be kept out in the first place.. i know immigrants that are hard workers, and some that are lazy - the same goes for Americans. People should have the right to move there and earn a living. =)

Yes on America, but no for the war. But where will all of that money be coming from when we're in debt now? At the end of the Clinton administration, we had a huge budget surplus. Now it's all gone. Wasted in the war, and not to mention the $42 million he authorized the IRS to spend so everyone could get their tax rebate reminders. We don't need reminders for that. They can just post that information on the IRS website. Pity that a lot of money got wasted badly, when it could have been used to our falling educational and healthcare system.

There is more than enough for both. You cannot compare national security to education. That is a political ruge to divert the attention of why we need to stop illegal immigration. In my State of Michigan alone, we have spent over 13 Billion dollars on schools just in lottery money and the schools still suck. Throwing money at a bad system of teaching our children will not make it any better on our children. Make our educators teach and not preach would not cost much at all.

I just glanced at a few answers before I answered and am just not believing what they have said the money for the schools are needed the wall is a deterrent not going to stop the people from coming. If two women I know can get through the east and west German sides one with two infants 60 some odd years ago what makes people think that the "wall "will be of any help? They would like to see the money spent on what they find unacceptable be deterred not stopped, than see that their, nieces, nephews, sons, daughters, grandchildren, what ever suffer in academics???????????????

Spend the money on the wall, once it slows the rate of illegal immigrants, & I.C.E. has a handle on the deportation of the current crop of illegals, then we will have more money to spend on a better quality education for our own citizens instead of paying Billions per year to teach Spanglish to our youth and subsidize the English as a second language classes that are taking away from a quality education for American children.

Education for the citizens who were born here and for the future citizens who were born elsewhere. The front page of the Chicago Tribune today stated that in the past five years "No Child Left Behind" has been another huge FAILURE...no surprise that the brainchild of GW Bush is just another waste of taxpayers money.

We should save the $10 Billion. We are going to need it for the next 15 years of occupation in Iraq and more tax giveaways for corporations and the richest 3% of the population.

spending 10 billion dollars in a wall is deffinatelly ridicules they make illegals seem like terrorists! honestly if you ever watch CNN they always attach the word "illegals" to "terrorism" this is brainwashing America! i'm from a family where there is many illegals and all they do is WORK and they live in their OWN homes because they worked for it. they don't claim tax money knowing they can't get it! i urge all of you to begin investigating the reality behind illegals who come to the country in search of a BETTER LIFE!

Yes, it would be better spent on education, but it would be better still if it was retained in the pockets of the taxpayers in the form of reduced taxes!

Imagine if the money wasted by the federal government was instead retained by the individual taxpayers. What a boost to the economy! What a boost to morale!

The Wall is just a huge pork barrel. Its purpose is to provide jobs for government employees and contractors, contracts for suppliers, income from the construction workers and for the hotels, motels, restaurants, bars and prostitutes (let's be real, folks) in the area of the building. And the drug dealers, and the con artists, and the gamblers . . . but you get the idea.
