If you are up to it, you should go on a cruise. I go through http://adventuretrav.com all the time. I speak to a woman called Fran, she usually takes alot off of the online a price. When you call, tell them where you are from and ask for a residency special. Most ships have specials depending what state you live in. I once got 80% off and went on a luxury cruise for $300 each of us. Also, most cruise ships give you special perks for going on your honeymoon.

I would suggest a cruise. Also, plan to spend a little more than that, it is your honeymoon. That only happens once. You will get money from people for your wedding.
I would go to vacationsTogo.com and take a look at the cruises in august. You can get an inside room for about $300 per person. You will also need some money for airfare, tipping and spending money. A cruise is a great value, your food, transportation, shows, etc are all included. Plus, NOTHING beats the Caribbean for a romantic spot.
God Bless!

You are in a great location. There are lots of places that you can drive to. There are nice beaches in both North and South Carolina and you are not that far from the panhandle of Florida. The mountains of North Carolina would be nice in August. You can go to any of these places for about 4 days with $1,000.00 and have a great time. Williams-burgh, VA is a romantic place and your within driving distance to there. You could do Disney or Epcot or Universal Studios in Orlando.

Im not from SC but if its warm and that is your budget, do something you both like or try something new! Camping in a new place? A weekend trip to an amusement park? Something different. Pending on how long you want to take. Im not sure about the cost but I do know about gas prices. Maybe Poconos in Penn for a weekend? Maybe if you live on your own, use your own place and get things to spice your place up for a honeymoon. Shut everything off that is connected to family/friends (cell /phones, computers, etc.) You couldnt do that if you had kids or maybe family could take them for a bit. Weekend trip to the beach and rent a place? Mountains? Let your imagination run wild together.

I agree with a previous answer on cutting the budget on the wedding party and spending it more on the honeymoon. If the 2 of you are into traveling and seeing more of the world, I suggest South East Asia. With the exchange rate in your favor, you can stay there for weeks and live like a king (of course if you spend your $$ wisely). I suggest Bali for her natural and cultural beauty.

i think maybe a CRUISE might be at that price. You can't really do much with just $1,000 -what are you gonna do about shopping, entertainment & food on top of that? It's best to cut the big wedding expenses & just spend the money on a really nice romantic honeymoon. Have a extremely small wedding & just use the money for the honeymoon. It's better that way. I think big wedding's are a big waste of money!
