For similar reasons we use drugs, or smoke cigarettes and cigars, or have sex without the intention to conceive. For similar reasons we go to the movies or on vacation in strange destinations and we buy Christmas presents to our friends!

Some drinks because they think it helps with there problems. Some drink for the heck of it.Yes I can drink without getting drunk. Well the more you drink the easier thing become. You lose touch with yourself and cut lose. If you do it for the wrong reasons then yes I think it is pathetic.

Lots of people drink moderately and don't get rat-arsed all the time. in moderation it's something very sociable. The question you actually ask, what is the point of it, is that man found out that it altered his mood. Whether for better or worse, that's fundamentally why people drink and take any drug.

Wow Delphi, give us a break. I don't drink cos I don't like the taste (taste buds of a five year old) and I tend to get sick before I get drunk so it's all a bit pointless. I wish I could do the social alcohol thing but I can't.

I agree with you(it's pathetic), there's no need to drink in order to have a good time. Why drink to have fun and the next day you don't remember what happened.

I haven't gotten drunk since 1975, seriously! I usually have two drinks when I go out to dinner or to parties. I like the taste & I like that it makes me mellower. I seldom drink at home. I have a bottle of Scotch which is at least a yr old. I never drank to get drunk.

so they can waste money and give there kids and wife a good kicking when they return and can blame all their problems on the drink instead of themselfs, also to make sure that there kids have no future in life, cant understand why people drink and then piss it all back out again, y not just rip up ur money and throw it away, same thing, forgot to say and to keep the population down by running innocent people over

no i don't think its pathetic

i can go out and drink without getting drunk
drinking gives people the confidence they don't have normally but not everyone drinks to get drunk and make a fool of them self's i think its a age thing to the older you get (only speaking for my self that is) you realise that you make your name A.S.S when you get to drunk so you then learn the word MODERATION sometimes it take some people longer.
have you ever had alcohol???

I haven't had a drink for a while but I see every point in it. Yummy white wine. Delicious cold lager. jolly happy feeling. What's wrong with that?

I don't want to judge you but I'm suspicious of people that don't drink. It makes me think they've got something to hide.
