What is rBGH?
Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone is a genetically engineered copy of a naturally occurring hormone produced by cows. Manufactured by Monsanto Company, the drug is sold to dairy farmers under the name POSILAC, though you'll also find it called BGH, rBGH, BST and rBST. When rBGH gets injected into dairy cows, milk production increases by as much as 10-15%. The use of rBGH on dairy cows was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in late 1993 and has been in use since 1994.

Well, here's a news flash....This stuff has been milk for some time now. They don't put it on labels, but it is in there.

There is milk that is rBGH free (contains NO rBGH) and costs more per gallon. Isn't that weird?

It's a scary thing isn't it! Because of this and for other reasons. I don't drink milk. I get calcium from other sources like soy and I believe broccoli has calcium. This is what you people are feeding your kids. Its funny you know, all the big businesses (and government) are conspiring to get people to drink milk, when really humans are the only mammals who drink milk past the age of babyhood! It's all about the dollar bill people. And to those who said your info is to long to read, it's the reason why, we are still in the dark about this sh**t! Cause people are to ignorant and don't want to educate themselves about issues such as this!

Since I don't use dairy the correct answer for me is no.

I personally am amused by the people that buy 'organic' milk with the statement "no added synthetic hormones" since the statement is meaningless! ALL milk contains growth and other hormones.

No, I wouldn't. I also wouldn't buy foods labeled GM.

The FDA doesn't give U.S. consumers a choice, even though these untested food are probably giving us all cancer.
