J.B. Phillips wrote a book with that title in the 1960s. Are there times that you present a god that is too small to take in the experiences of other people (as well as yourself)?

If you're interested, I just found an edition of the book online for free. It's in a 97-page-long, easy to read PDF file:

never heard of it before, but it definitely sounds worth reading--I think many people like to keep God in a little jar and only let him out to grant their own wishes

Didn't Dawkins say something like this recently. That the god of traditional theists was far too pettily concerned with humanity and if in the vanishingly small probability that he actually existed he/it would have to be something way beyond humanity's imagination.

Never heard of the book.

In my opinion, God isn't too small for anything; it's the level of faith in the person sizing it as being too small.
