Lack of Love. If they really loved, they would not be disobedient, nor would they hate their neighbor or covet what their neighbor (world-wide) has. They would have true compassion for their fellow men.

Inventing God! This one misguided idea has caused so much prejudice, war, and misery that it is beyond everything else in its negative impact on mankind and the earth. Everything from slavery to genital mutilation to terrorism has been justified by "God is on our side." People need to be responsible for their own actions, not create a god to justify their bad acts.
