I was thinking about joing Curves. Has anyone gone to Curves or know anything about it? I'm only 23 and I read that it was geared toward more of an older age group.

Curves is okay, but they don't have real weights. They have nautilus equipment that works based on the resistance of how fast you move. You are better off in a "real" gym with regular weights and a variety of equipment and classes offered. Is there a Healthworks for Women gym near you? I have been a member of Healthworks for years and I love the all women atmosphere. You don't have to be self conscious at all. It's good for your body image, too... you see all sizes and shapes in a women's gym.

Good for you! Good luck in your search! I hope you find the gym that offers you the best fit. Most places will allow you to "test it out" for free.

Curves is for any age, but there tends to be an older age group of woman that attend. I think that is because a lot of younger woman join a co-ed gym to work out and maybe pick up men. If you are insecure about excersisng in front of men you might find yourself more comfortable at Curves. Good luck and I hope you reach your goals!!

All these ladies gyms are alot alike. It's based on 30 min circuit traning. IMO it's great for keeping fit and tone but i think to lose weight and get to that point I would say go to a normal gym, more equip. to use and no time limits.
